Press Release: Occupy Wellington
People’s Parliament: The First Sitting
The Occupied Cities of Aotearoa invite you to join us at 5.30pm this Friday, November11th, to participate in real democracy at the first sitting of the People’s Parliament!
The People’s Parliament is founded on respect for all people and equality for all voices. Together we can discuss the problems that face us locally and globally, and together we can generate solutions accessible to everyone.
We believe that the global problems we face require a global redesign, which can only be achieved by the collaboration, cooperation and creativity of all the world’s people.
This redesign is happening now in 2,500 Occupied Cities around the world, and we need input from the people of Aotearoa. It is the people, not politicians, who are best qualified to create sustainable, healthy, happy communities.
Together we can shape a future that is environmentally, socially and economically just for everyone.
Come and add your piece to the puzzle; Join us 5.30pm this Friday 11/11/11

To the organisers
Congratulations on a fantastic idea re the People’s Parliament.
I spoke to Ruby this morning at Occupy Wellington and left some more information about the campaign for a new investigation into the three building collapses on 9/11 from the architects and engineers for 911 truth http://www.ae911truth.org and from https://www.nz911truth.org.
I also asked for this issue to be included at the people’s parliament today. Just to reiterate what we discussed, Occupy Wall Street voted overwhelmingly to support a new investigation into the attacks of 9/11, see http://coupmedia.org/the-sovereign-peoples-movement/6-re-investigate-the-attacks-of-9-11-2001.html This demand comes from the pleas of the growing global 9/11 truth movement comprised of citizens and professionals such as politicians, defence experts, military, fire fighters, pilots, medical professionals, architects and engineers who are demanding a new investigation into the events of 9/11. The scientific evidence that has emerged over the past ten years that the media has not revealed to the worldwide public shows the official story of 9/11 to be nothing but a cover up and a criminal fraud against the citizens of the United States and the world. You can visit the site of Consensus911 where you will see the best evidence for a new investigation presented by a team of international experts http://www.consensus911.org/ in physics, engineering, chemistry, and other disciplines. Also the Occupy Wall Street protestors will be supporting a campaign on the 19th and 20th of November to Occupy Building 7 – see http://www.occupybuilding7.org
Today people around the world including those in New Zealand are unsafe, not because of terrorists and domestic extremists, but because they have lost their civil liberties and have no protection from unaccountable government power. We beleive that Occupy Wellington and the campaign for a new 9/11 investigation are interconnected. The loss of civil liberties and extra powers of enforcement that will be used to control the Occupy movement as it gains more traction is power given to authorities obtained as a result of the 9/11 event. (Think Operation 8 and what forces were mobilised in that attack on activists). This same military industrial complex is also the one that is seeing huge amounts of wealth being generated to those with interests in the security/defense industries, at the expense of citizen wealth. Thus, the relationship between corporate power, state/military power, and depressed wealth for the many are where these issues meet.
Many thanks again for your incredible committment to peace and justice for all the 99%.
All the best for a successful parliament.
We would be grateful if you could include us on your mailing list. ([email protected])
Kind regards
Helen Waddington
